Who is the Angel? That's a much harder question to answer. I hope to be able to answer it someday to satisfy my own curiosity; if that ever happens, I may or may not share it. Her identity may in fact be subjective, depending more on the reader than on the writer; I would be pleased if that were so.

I resisted trying to image her for quite a long time, so as to retain the infinte flexibility of imagination. However, eventually my curiosity got the better of me, and I embarked on a quest to produce her image. I ended up using digital tools since I have absolutely no skill whatsoever at producing imagery with my hands. Due to my severe shortage of experience, I was forced to rely on a model image for reference, changing and embellishing as I worked the new one...but at last, Ellyn was smiling out at me from the page from beneath her favorite black beret:
