The Angel Cycle

The angel cycle stories began with Angel Passing, purely as a voice exercise. I was writing through a bout of depression, and the blend of science fiction and fantasy that the Angel stories are flowed through my fingers with nary an effort; I wrote the first draft of Angel Passing in about half an hour of furious pounding on my Macintosh. Angel Breaking was next, and as you can see, it isn't much more than a snippet; I'm not sure what's gong to happen with it. Angel Making grew out of my attempt to explain myself. Actually, the Angel stories are really lending themselves towards a collected novel, with Angel Making as a preface; I hope someday to have the wherewithal to actually write it. If/when I do, you'll be the first to know. The Angel stories are, looked at in one fashion, simply another example of my fascination with the underground of New York, both physical and societal, although the latter has been done by many. The physical underground holds a special place in my imagination, as I spent many hours in its most benign neighborhoods as a New York subway traveller and commuter (following the Angel Cycle stories links below, you can find some other musings that grew out of my experiences down there). In any case, these stories are the Angel Cycle. At this time, they appear to be coalescing into a larger story which was originally named 'Skylight' for obscure reasons. It now appears to deserve the title Angel Cycle, so that's what it is called. If you read Angel Cycle, you will encounter the various tales that are the Angel Stories in an order provided by that story; or, you can read them individually below in the order in which I wrote them.
